SAUDI NATIONAL DAY

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day on the 23rd of September every year to commemorate the unification of the Kingdom under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. National day is a day to renew loyalty and
patriotism. This year the students of Victory International School celebrated their ‘Saudi National Day’ on the 27th of September 2018 conducted by the Saudi staff. The celebration was presided over by the Academic Directress Mrs. Nadira Khizer and was attended by Mrs. Budoor (Principal). Dressed in hues of green and white the students looked elegant and suave. There were many programmes on Saudi culture and history. The day began with the Saudi National Anthem sung by the students followed by the recitation of Quran. The narrator spoke about the developments of Saudi Arabia, culture and its rich history. This was followed by a Vote of Thanks to the Custodian of
the two Holy Mosques. The programmes though trained by the teachers were executed by the students and was a visual delight. The programmes depicted the Saudi lifestyle, the Islamic heritage, Bedouin traditions and various cultural practices of Saudi Arabia – the land of golden sand and mysteries. Arabic coffee, popularly known as the ‘Qahwa’, was served along with other Arabic snacks. Chocolates and candies were distributed to kids. After the
refreshments we called it a day and the students left home with a feeling of pride and happiness.
